Who’s Playing
Dayton @ Vanderbilt
Regular Season Records: Dayton 24-10; Vanderbilt 18-16
What to Know
The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Dayton Flyers are set to clash at 3 p.m. ET March 20 at Memorial Gym in the second round of the NIT.
While not quite a landslide, the matchup between Vanderbilt and the Belmont Bruins last Tuesday was still a pretty decisive one as the Commodores wrapped it up with an 82-71 win at home. Guard Jordan Wright and forward Quentin Millora-Brown were among the main playmakers for Vanderbilt as the former had 24 points along with seven rebounds and the latter had eight points in addition to 13 boards.
Meanwhile, Dayton earned some postseason bragging rights after a successful outing this past Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 74-55 victory over the Toledo Rockets. Dayton’s forward DaRon Holmes II did his thing and had 20 points along with six boards.
Vanderbilt is the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a five-game streak of ATS wins.
The Commodores were within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap when the teams previously met five seasons ago as they fell 68-63 to the Flyers. Maybe Vanderbilt will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
