What to Know
The Samford Bulldogs have quite the challenge ahead of them as they’re expected to be blown off the court. They will take on the San Francisco Dons on the road at 9 p.m. ET Monday at War Memorial Gymnasium. These two teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
The Bulldogs didn’t have too much trouble with the Spring Hill Badgers at home this past Thursday as they won 86-69.
Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the contest between San Francisco and the Prairie View A&M Panthers this past Thursday was still a pretty decisive one as the Dons wrapped it up with a 92-76 victory at home. San Francisco can attribute much of their success to Jamaree Bouyea, who had 24 points in addition to four blocks.
The wins brought Samford up to 2-0 and San Francisco to 2-0. A couple last-season stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Samford ranks fifth in college basketball when it comes to steals per game, with 6.8 on average. Less enviably, the Dons have allowed their opponents an average of 9.3 steals per game, the 41st most in college basketball. In other words, they will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
