The Cincinnati Bengals are set to host their first playoff game since the 2015 season and are already bracing for crazy temperatures in Saturday’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Per Stadium Forecast, Cincinnati has a 50% chance of seeing snow with a high near 33 degrees. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. ET, but Saturday night the area is expected to hit a low of 17 degrees.

The Las Vegas Raiders play in a dome — with desert heat outside, no less — so the conditions will be much different from what they are accustomed to. When Vegas and Cincinnati played in Week 11, they played in Allegiant Stadium, making the atmosphere for this game much different.

Vegas has yet to play in any game under 40 degrees this season, playing its last three games in a dome (two at home and one in Indianapolis). The coldest weather game Vegas has played in the 2021 season was in Cleveland, when the Raiders beat the Browns 16-14 with a game-time temperature of 42 degrees and winds up to 10 miles per hour.

The Raiders had a dubious streak of losing games with the game-time temperature below 50 degrees, falling in 11 straight before beating the Browns in November of the 2020 season. Derek Carr is 5-10 in games below 50 degrees in his career, but 2-1 in his last three (including 1-1 this year).

Saturday’s weather forecast in Cincinnati to monitor, especially with both Carr and Joe Burrow making their first playoff starts.
