(NOTE LANGUAGE) In his new song and video “Greatness,” Quavo pays tribute to his late nephew Takeoff and appears to hint that Migos has come to an end.
Released Wednesday, the visual captures Quavo, with a blunt in hand, watching throwback videos and reminiscing on the old days. He raps that he’d give away all his material items “just to see my dawg just one more time,” and about his attempts to move forward despite not having all the answers to his questions.
Speaking of questions, the rapper also addresses rumors and inquiries about the current state of Migos, one of the things he seems to want to leave in the past.
“Came in, swept the game like a storm with the motherf***in’ flow, n****/Take’ did that/
So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n****/it can’t come back,” he spits.
Still, he hopes fans “never forget that the Migos amazin’,” and notes he couldn’t achieve greatness “without the greatest group in the world.”
“Greatness” is the second song in which Quavo looks back on his time with Takeoff, who was fatally shot outside a Houston bowling alley in November. He performed the first, “Without You,” at the 2023 Grammys, during which he and Migos member Offset reportedly got into an altercation.
