NFL Week 15 early odds: Packers, Cowboys, and Chiefs all open as road favorites

Week 14 in the NFL is nearly in the books as the Rams and Cardinals will put the finishing touches on this week’s action during “Monday Night Football.” Already we’ve seen some wild contests throughout the bulk of the slate, including a bad beat in the Browns-Ravens game, and a couple of overtime wins by the Buccaneers and 49ers

While we wait for Week 14 to officially wrap up, now seems like as good of a time as ever to begin our research into this next collection of games and see what the opening lines are for each contest across the upcoming slate.

Week 15 early odds

(All lines from Caesars Sportsbook, all games on Sunday unless noted)

Chiefs (9-4) at Chargers (8-5), Thursday

Latest Odds: Los Angeles Chargers +4

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Chiefs -3

The Chiefs are starting to look like their old selves after winning their sixth game in a row in a blowout against the Raiders. A win against the Chargers on Thursday would give them a big leg up in the division as it’d not only give them a two-game advantage, but it’d also give them the head-to-head tiebreaker by completing the season sweep. That’ll be easier said than down, however, as the Chargers have been playing some good ball as of late. L.A. has won two straight and Justin Herbert just threw for three touchdowns in their win over New York. In their last six games against the AFC West, the Chargers are 5-1 ATS. Meanwhile, K.C. is 4-0 ATS over its last four games.

Raiders (6-7) at Browns (7-6), Saturday

Latest Odds: Cleveland Browns -6

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Browns -6

The Raiders are trying to pick up the pieces after a crushing loss to the Chiefs and will do so on the road when they travel to Cleveland. The Browns are still in the thick of the division race in the AFC North after fending off the Ravens in Week 14. Both of these teams will be looking to shake off an ATS losing skid as Las Vegas is 1-5 ATS over its last six games and the Browns are 0-4 ATS over the last four weeks. The betting edge may lean in favor of the Raiders, who are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a road underdog.

Patriots (9-4) at Colts (7-6), Saturday

Latest Odds: Indianapolis Colts -2

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Colts -2

Indy is a slight home favorite against the Patriots in this AFC head-to-head. Both clubs are coming off a bye in Week 14, so each squad should be well-rested. The Colts are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against the AFC and do match up well against New England, who has struggled against the run this season. That said, the Patriots are currently riding a seven-game winning and cover streak. Over the last seven games following a bye week, New England is 6-1 ATS. As for Indy, they are 4-1-1 ATS following the bye.

Cowboys (9-4) at Giants (4-9)

Latest Odds: New York Giants +10.5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Cowboys -10

This spread has since ticked up to Cowboys -11. The quarterback situation will still likely be a big question for the Giants throughout the week as we get more information on Daniel Jones‘ (neck) status. Meanwhile, the Cowboys will be looking to put together a more stable outing offensively following a mediocre showing against Washington that was largely won by the defense. While this is a big number to lay for a road team, Dallas has been strong outside of AT&T Stadium, owning a 6-1 ATS mark in its last seven road games. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the NFC East.

Texans (2-11) at Jaguars (2-11)

Latest Odds: Jacksonville Jaguars -3

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Jaguars -3.5

This game will likely mean more to the 2022 NFL Draft order than anything that has to do with the 2021 season. Jacksonville has since bumped down to a 3-point favorite in this matchup, which could be thanks to the shutout loss to the Titans and the continued dysfunction within the coaching staff under Urban Meyer. As for the Texans, Davis Mills was able to throw for 331 yards against Seattle, which is an encouraging sign going forward. The Jaguars are 1-5 ATS in their last six games as the home favorite and are 0-4 ATS in their last four overall. Houston hasn’t been much better as they are 2-5 ATS as an underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last five games, so something will need to give.

Titans (9-4) at Steelers (6-6-1)

Latest Odds: Pittsburgh Steelers +1.5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Titans -2

Tennessee sits as a two-point road favorite as they are set to roll into Pittsburgh. The Steelers are getting some extended rest after playing last Thursday, but they have been an inconsistent group offensively. The status of T.J. Watt will also be worth watching in this game after he left Week 14 due to a groin injury. As for the Titans, they are coming off a win over the Jaguars, which does trend favorably for this matchup. In their last five games, following ATS wins, the Titans are 4-1 ATS. They are also 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against the AFC. The Steelers, however, are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games.

Jets (3-10) at Dolphins (6-7)

Latest Odds: Miami Dolphins -8.5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Dolphins -7

Miami has jumped out to an 8.5-point favorite coming out of Week 14 and is going to be fresh off the bye when they host New York. The Jets are coming off of a 30-9 loss at the hands of the Saints that pushed them to 3-10 on the year. They are 1-5 ATS in their last six and are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games within the division. As for Miami, they rode a five-game winning streak into the bye are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. They are also 6-0 ATS in their last six games following a bye week.

Washington (6-7) at Eagles (6-7)

Latest Odds: Philadelphia Eagles -5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Eagles -2.5

Philly has jumped out as a 4-point favorite and is another team that had the week off in Week 14. Even with Gardner Minshew playing well with Jalen Hurts injured last time out, the second-year quarterback is expected to be under center for the Eagles when they host Washington. The Football Team did show some resolve as they scored 20 points in the second half in their loss to Dallas, but they are now 1-4 ATS in their previous five games against the NFC East. The Eagles have played well as a favorite, owning a. 4-1 ATS record. That said, they historically haven’t been the hottest team coming out a bye as they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following the bye.

Cardinals (10-2) at Lions (1-11-1)

Latest Odds: Detroit Lions +14

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Cardinals -12

Arizona is now a 14-point favorite in this game, which is by far the largest spread currently on the Week 15 slate. More movement likely won’t be seen until after the Cardinals host the Rams on Monday night, but this should be a game that Kyler Murray and company take care of. Coming into Week 14, the Cardinals are 9-3 ATS, which was tied for the second-best mark in the entire NFL. That said, Detroit has been able to hang with teams for the bulk of the season (8-5 ATS) and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a home underdog.

Panthers (5-8) at Bills (7-6)

Latest Odds: Buffalo Bills -11

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Bills -9.5

Buffalo has since moved to an 11.5-point favorite in this match. The Bills are coming off their second loss in a row as Tom Brady threw a game-winning touchdown in overtime to negate Josh Allen from completing a comeback against the Buccaneers. Buffalo is now clinging to the No. 7 seed in the AFC at 7-6 and will be desperate for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. As for Carolina, they fell to the Falcons in a game where Cam Newton was benched for a time in place of P.J. Walker. The Panthers are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games as a road underdog and 10-3 in their last 13 road games overall. Meanwhile, Buffalo is 6-1-1 ATS against teams with a losing record, but are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Bengals (7-6) at Broncos (7-6)

Latest Odds: Denver Broncos -1.5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Cincinnati -2.5

This line has nearly flipped as the Broncos are now a 1-point favorite in this AFC head-to-head. Both of these clubs are just outside of the playoff picture, but a win could easily move them closer to landing a postseason berth. Cincinnati may have the edge in this matchup thanks to their solid record on the road. In their last five road games, Cincy is 4-1 ATS. They are also 7-2 ATS on the road against teams with a winning home record. As for the Broncos, the AFC has not been kind to them as they are 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games.

Falcons (6-7) at 49ers (7-6)

Latest Odds: San Francisco 49ers -8.5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: 49ers -7.5

San Francisco’s advantage has climbed up a point to 8.5 as they find themselves as one of the hotter teams in the league at the moment. They just earned an overtime win against the Bengals and are currently slotted as the No. 6 seed in the conference. Believe it or not, Atlanta is also not out of the playoff picture either at 6-7. That’s the same record as the No. 7 seed in Washington, so they have an outside shot a moving up. The Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, but have struggled against teams with a winning record (1-5 ATS). As for the Niners, they are 4-1 ATS over their last five games.

Seahawks (5-8) at Rams (8-4)

Latest Odds: Los Angeles Rams -7

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Rams -7

More movement on this game will likely come following Los Angeles’ matchup with the Cardinals on Monday night. That said, the Seahawks are coming off a blowout win over the Houston Texans to move them to 5-8 on the season. Rashaad Penny was the story in that win as he totaled 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the day. The Seahawks have struggled against the NFC as of late (4-10 ATS in last 14 games) and are under .500 ATS in their last 13 road games, so they’ll need better play away from Seattle in order to get back into the win column.

Packers (10-3) at Ravens (8-5)

Latest Odds: Baltimore Ravens +4.5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Packers -1.5

Lamar Jackson and Aaron Rodgers are dealing with injuries coming out of Week 14, so their statuses will be worth monitoring throughout the week. Green Bay is still fighting for the No. 1 seed in the NFC and are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games. They are also 7-1 ATS as a favorite. Meanwhile, Baltimore has played well as a home dog, owning a 5-1 ATS record over their previous six games under that circumstance.

Saints (6-7) at Buccaneers (10-3)

Latest Odds: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -11

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Buccaneers -11

Tampa Bay is fresh off an overtime win over the Bills and now find themselves as an 11-point favorite against New Orleans. The Buccaneers are undefeated at home this season and are also 5-0 ATS at Raymond James Stadium in their last fives games. The Saints were able to beat (and cover) against the Jets on Sunday, but that may not trend too favorably as it relates to this game. Following their last six ATS wins, the Saints are 0-6 ATS.

Vikings (6-7) at Bears (4-9), Monday

Latest Odds: Chicago Bears +3.5

Powered by Caesars Sportsbook

Opening line: Vikings -4

Minnesota and Chicago will put a bow on Week 15 during ”Monday Night Football.” The Vikings are coming off a win against the Steelers where Dalvin Cook exploded for 205 rushing yards. Meanwhile, the Bears did give the Packers their best punch by going up by six at halftime, but then gave way to Aaron Rodgers in the second half to fall to 4-9 on the year. Minnesota is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games as the favorite and are 0-7 ATS against teams with a losing record, so the Bears could be the play here.
