NFL DFS, 2022 preseason Week 2: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy football picks for Saturday

Saturdays during the NFL preseason are always the busiest days and Week 2 of the 2022 NFL preseason is no different with 16 teams in action. That creates a robust NFL DFS player pool and Saturday will feature two of the top rookie quarterbacks in action. Kenny Pickett will look to build upon his two-touchdown performance last week as the Steelers visit Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. Meanwhile, Malik Willis and the Titans will host a Buccaneers squad still without Tom Brady (personal).

Both Pickett and Willis showed flashes of brilliance last week, so daily Fantasy football players who started them were surely rewarded. But which NFL DFS picks for Saturday will offer the same level of production? With such a high variance of playing time during preseason, you’ll want to have advice before setting your preseason NFL DFS strategy. Before locking in any NFL DFS picks for Saturday, be sure to check out the NFL DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy football picks from SportsLine’s Jacob Gibbs.

Gibbs uses a data-driven approach that has helped him consistently provide accurate rankings at every position. He has proven to be one of the nation’s most accurate Fantasy rankers in recent years — posting the eighth-most accurate results over the past three seasons, according to Fantasy Pros.

Gibbs analyzes each incoming rookie class in detail and is familiar with the entirety of each NFL team‘s offensive depth chart. He also closely monitored training camp reports this summer and has a good feel for which players are poised for a strong preseason performance. If there’s anybody who can give you an edge in preseason NFL DFS, it’s him.

Now, Gibbs has turned his attention to Saturday’s NFL DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NFL DFS picks for Saturday

For Week 2 NFL preseason games on Saturday night (where every player is priced at $5,500 on DraftKings and $6,000 on FanDuel), one of Gibbs’ top picks is Steelers receiver George Pickens. The second-round rookie out of Georgia was one of the stars of Week 1 of the preseason, hauling in 43 yards and a touchdown on three grabs. He benefitted from Diontae Johnson (hip) and Chase Claypool (shoulder) being inactive, but Pickens is also listed along those two as a starter on the Steelers’ preseason depth chart.

All five of Pickens’ targets last week came from either Mitchell Trubisky or Mason Rudolph, and that creates even more optimism for Saturday. Pittsburgh undoubtedly wants to see Pickens and Pickett share the field together, and coach Mike Tomlin has already gone on record in saying Pickett will have more “varsity action” in Week 2. More of the QB likely means more of Pickens as well as the Steelers will want their top two draftees to get meaningful snaps before the regular season.

Another part of Gibbs’ optimal NFL DFS strategy includes rostering Titans rookie RB Hassan Haskins, who had 48 yards from scrimmage last week. A fourth-round pick out of Michigan, Haskins was first-team All-Big Ten last year as he led the conference in touchdowns (20) while ranking second in rushing yards (1,327). He offers good size at 6-foot-2 and 228 pounds and should see the bulk of playing time with the first team with Derrick Henry not expected to suit up.

It appears Tennessee wants to see what Haskins can do out of the backfield as well as he had three catches for 29 yards in his preseason debut. Throughout his entire college career, he only had one game with more than three receptions or more than 29 yards. NFL preseason is exactly the time to experiment, but Haskins will also be given opportunities to show off his bruising running style. Haskins’ six carries last week only trailed Julius Chestnut’s seven, but considering Chestnut lost a fumble, Haskins could supplant him as Tennessee’s primary RB in the preseason. See who else to include on your rosters here.
