Nas urges people to check out new exhibit celebrating hip-hop’s 50-year anniversary

Nas, a veteran in the hip-hop game, is encouraging fans to see a new exhibit honoring his genre’s 50th anniversary.
“Check out Hip Hop: Conscious Unconscious, a photo exhibit documenting the 50-year evolution of one of the most influential cultural movements of our generation, Hip Hop,” the rapper wrote on Instagram.
“Shoutout to the photographers & Rap Kings -+@faithnewman19 & Sacha Jenkins & @videomusicbox,” he added in a second post.
As described, “Hip Hop: Conscious, Unconscious” features a collection of hip-hop photography spanning the past 50 years. Located at NYC’s Fotografiska Museum, it opened to the general public Thursday, January 26. According to the montage in Nas’ post, it’s already been visited by the likes of Raekwon, N.O.R.E., Styles P, Grandmaster Caz, Melle Mel, Havoc, Fabolous, Maino, Dave East, Nia Long, Michael Che and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
