Lamar Jackson is questionable to return after the Ravens quarterback sustained an ankle injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Browns. Jackson left the game after getting hit by Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on the first play of the second quarter. Jackson was evaluated by trainers on the field before being carted off into the locker room. He was replaced by Tyler Huntley, who three weeks ago quarterbacked the Ravens to a 16-13 win over the Chicago Bears.
The Browns led 10-0 at the time of Jackson’s injury. While Jackson and the Ravens’ offense struggled to move the ball, the Browns gained 92 total yards in the first quarter while building a two possession lead. The Browns scored the game’s first touchdown on Baker Mayfield’s nine-yard touchdown pass to Jarvis Landry on Cleveland’s third possession.
Both teams are looking to improve their odds at qualifying for the playoffs. The Ravens entered Sunday’s game in first place in the AFC North with an 8-4 record. Cleveland (6-6) can move from fourth to second place in the North win a win over Baltimore and a Bengals loss to the 49ers this afternoon in Cincinnati.
The Ravens are certainly hoping that Jackson’s injury is not too serious. The 2019 league MVP is not only one of the league’s best passers, he leads the Ravens with 762 rushing yards. Jackson’s play has helped the Ravens remain atop the AFC North despite Baltimore sustaining several major injuries on both sides of the ball.
