What you need to know about the Rockets

Houston swept a pair of road games at Portland last weekend, but it has lost its two games since then. The Rockets were competitive in both outings, losing to San Antonio and Sacramento by three points each. Both teams held double-digit leads in Wednesday’s matchup, but the Kings were better down the stretch.

The Rockets are currently playing without leading scorer and rebounder Christian Wood, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury. Rookie shooting guard Jalen Green is the second-leading scorer, averaging 16.4 points per game. Houston has covered the spread at a 4-1-1 clip in its last six games.

What you need to know about the Kings

Sacramento has won three of its last four games to keep its slim playoff hopes alive. The Kings are wrapping up a five-game road trip on Friday night after picking up wins over Indiana, Orlando and Houston. They are 3.5 games back of San Antonio for the final play-in spot in the Western Conference.

The Kings are also without their leading scorer, as point guard De’Aaron Fox remains sidelined with a hand injury. Their injury issues do not stop there, as second-leading scorer Domantas Sabonis is out with a knee issue. Sacramento will be needing a big game from Harrison Barnes, who averages 16.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
