What to Know
The UCF Knights are 13-0 against the East Carolina Pirates since January of 2016, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success on Sunday. The Knights and East Carolina will face off in an American Athletic battle at 2 p.m. ET at Addition Financial Arena. UCF is out to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
On Thursday, UCF lost to the Houston Cougars on the road by a decisive 70-52 margin. Guard Darius Perry wasn’t much of a difference maker for UCF; Perry finished with only eight points on 2-for-12 shooting in his 27 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, East Carolina netted a 65-57 victory over the South Florida Bulls on Thursday. Four players on the Pirates scored in the double digits: forward Vance Jackson (16), guard Tristen Newton (14), guard Brandon Suggs (13), and guard Tremont Robinson-White (10).
East Carolina’s win lifted them to 13-12 while UCF’s loss dropped them down to 15-9. We’ll see if East Carolina can repeat their recent success or if the Knights bounce back and reverse their fortune.
