What to Know
The Missouri Tigers will take on the Wichita State Shockers at 9 p.m. ET Friday at home. Wichita State will be strutting in after a win while the Tigers will be stumbling in from a loss.
It looks like Mizzou got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 81-58 punch to the gut against the Florida State Seminoles on Monday. One thing holding Mizzou back was the mediocre play of guard Javon Pickett, who did not have his best game: he played for 27 minutes but put up just eight points on 2-for-12 shooting.
As for Wichita State, they can’t say they have nothing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. They escaped with a win on Monday against the UNLV Rebels by the margin of a single free throw, 74-73.
Mizzou is expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the UMKC Kangaroos Nov. 15 easily too and instead slipped up with an 80-66. In other words, don’t count the Shockers out just yet.
