What to Know
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will take on the #23 Wisconsin Badgers at 9:15 p.m. ET Wednesday at home. Georgia Tech is out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Things were close when the Yellow Jackets and the Georgia Southern Eagles clashed last Friday, but Georgia Tech ultimately edged out the opposition 61-59. Guard Michael Devoe shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and finished with 26 points, five dimes and five rebounds, and this makes it back-to-back games in which he has scored at least 42% of Georgia Tech’s points.
As for Wisconsin, they have more to be thankful for after their contest against the Saint Mary’s Gaels last week. Wisconsin snuck past Saint Mary’s with a 61-55 victory. The Badgers can attribute much of their success to forward Tyler Wahl, who had 18 points in addition to five boards and four blocks.
The Yellow Jackets are expected to lose this next one by 3.5. Against the spread, they have been house darlings this year with a chancy 2-4 ATS record.
The wins brought Georgia Tech up to 5-1 and Wisconsin to 5-1. Two offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Georgia Tech ranks 26th in college basketball when it comes to field goal percentage, with 49.30% on the season. On the other end of the spectrum, the Badgers have only been able to knock down 39.50% percent of their shots, which is the 30th lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. We’ll see if Georgia Tech’s 9.80% advantage translates to a win.
