Who’s Playing

San Antonio @ Miami

Current Records: San Antonio 24-36; Miami 39-21

What to Know

The San Antonio Spurs have quite the challenge ahead of them as they’re expected to be blown off the court 1. They are staying on the road this past Saturday to face off against the Miami Heat at 8 p.m. ET Feb. 26 at FTX Arena. San Antonio hasn’t won a contest against Miami since Jan. 19 of 2020, but they’ll be looking to end the drought.

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but the Spurs ultimately got the result they were hoping for this past Friday with a 157-153 win over the Washington Wizards. Center Jakob Poeltl and point guard Dejounte Murray were among the main playmakers for San Antonio as the former almost dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 11 boards, and eight dimes and the latter posted a triple-double on 31 points, 14 assists, and 13 rebounds. Murray now has 12 triple-doubles this year.

Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the game between Miami and the New York Knicks this past Friday was still a pretty decisive one as Miami wrapped it up with a 115-100 victory on the road. The Heat relied on the efforts of center Bam Adebayo, who posted a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds along with four blocks, and point guard Tyler Herro, who had 25 points in addition to seven boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Adebayo has had at least ten rebounds.

The Spurs are now 24-36 while Miami sits at 39-21. Two stats to keep an eye on: San Antonio comes into the matchup boasting the second fewest fouls per game in the league at 17.9. But Miami ranks third in the league when it comes to fouls drawn per game, with 20.5 on average. The ref’s whistle might dictate the flow of action in this one.
