Island games do funny things to people. And by funny, I mean worrying about the No. 1 tight end in Fantasy over the past five seasons.
Travis Kelce laid an egg on Monday Night Football against the Giants. His 2.7 PPR Fantasy points was his lowest output of the season and the future Hall of Famer certainly didn’t look like himself. It was also his third game in a row, and his fifth in six games, without a touchdown. All that struggle, and he’s still averaging more Fantasy points per game than any other tight end in football. It’s nice to have that kind of cushion.
I don’t want to make it sound like I think Kelce has lived up to his Round 1 ADP. So far, he most certainly has not. That puts him in good company this season. Half the first two rounds have been a disappointment and basically every tight end drafted in the first 10 rounds other than Mark Andrews and T.J. Hockenson has been as well.
What I am saying is that we have no reason to panic about Kelce. Don’t consider selling low or anything of the sort. He’s still scored at least 17 Fantasy points in five of eight games and at least 13.5 in all but two. Last year he had a game with three catches for 31 yards in Week 7 against the Broncos . He scored 24.9 PPR Fantasy points in his next game. In 2019 he had a five game stretch without a touchdown. He then scored in three of his next four games.
