Generally speaking, I only talk about guys in the waiver wire section of this piece if they’re rostered in 60% of leagues or fewer. And I’m going to stick to that in Week 10. But there are some guys you need to look for before you look at my top waiver wire options.
Devonta Freeman is rostered in 65% of CBS leagues and would be my top priority as of Tuesday afternoon. Freeman played a higher percentage of the snaps than any running back has all season for the Ravens . There’s still some concern that could change when Latavius Murray comes back, but it’s hard to believe it will, considering how much better Freeman has been. I would expect 12-15 touches a week, which is enough to make him a borderline No. 2 running back in Week 10 against the Dolphins .
D’Ernest Johnson is rostered in 70% of leagues and could be a bell cow back in Week 10 against the Patriots because Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton have tested positive for COVID. In the projections below you’ll see Johnson is way ahead of Freeman, but it’s not quite that simple. Freeman plays on Thursday night and we may not know for sure if Johnson is going to start until Saturday. If Chubb gets two negative tests, 24 hours apart, he could be cleared for Week 10.
And that’s not all. J.D. McKissic (in PPR), Devin Singletary (if Zack Moss is out) and Alex Collins (if Chris Carson remains out) are all startworthy options in Week 10 and they’re all rostered in 66-76% of leagues. Look for all five of these backs before you target the waiver-wire options below.

24.8 — D’Ernest Johnson scored 24.8 PPR Fantasy points the last game he played without Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt .77% — James Conner played 77% of the snaps without Chase Edmonds in Week 10.0 — Jeff Wilson did not play an offensive snap, despite being activated off of IR.26.1% — Michael Carter has been targeted on 26% of Mike White’s pass attempts. We expect White back in Week 10.15.4 — The Buccaneers are surrendering 15.4 PPR Fantasy points per game to running backs on passing plays alone. That bodes well for McKissic.40% — Jordan Howard played 40% of the snaps in Week 9, second to Boston Scott . He’s no sure thing.19.7% — D’Andre Swift leads all running backs with a 19.7% target share for the season.68.3% — Damien Harris and Stevenson have accounted for more than two-thirds of the Patriots rush attempts this year. No other back has even a 10% share.
