Diddy, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Dave Chappelle and Lil Uzi Vert are headlining this year’s Roots Picnic, the festival announced Monday.
The two-day festival will take place at The Mann in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4. The kick-off to the jam-packed weekend this year also includes a special comedic performance from Chappelle and The Roots at Wells Fargo Center on Friday, June 2.
According to a press release issued Monday, Diddy will join The Roots “to deliver a set highlighted by decades of definitive hits.” A “rare event” also comes from co-headliner Ms. Lauryn Hill, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by performing the album in its entirety.
The Roots Picnic will have a lot of Philly hometown favorites, including Eve, DJ Drama, Kindred the Family Soul, and a reunion for State Property members Freeway, Beanie Siegel, Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk, Oschino and Sparks.
Other acts include Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, City Girls, Maverick City, GloRilla, Saucy Santana, DVSN, Adam Blackstone with Coco Jones and Mary Mary, Symba, Fridayy and more. There will also be live podcasts from Charlamagne Tha God and Off the Record with DJ Akademiks, Don’t Call Me White Girl, Lip Service with Angela Yee, and more.
