Chiefs vs. Bengals odds, how to watch, live stream: Model reveals NFL picks, AFC Championship Game predictions

Written by on January 25, 2022

After one of the most exciting divisional rounds in the history of the NFL playoffs, the No. 4 seed Cincinnati Bengals and No. 2 seed Kansas City Chiefs survived in the 2022 NFL playoff bracket and will now meet in the 2022 AFC Championship Game on Sunday. Kansas City pulled out a wild 42-36 overtime victory against the Bills. The Bengals were one of three road underdogs who won outright, as they upset the Titans 19-16 on a last-second field goal. This is a rematch of a Jan. 2 matchup in which the Bengals beat the Chiefs 34-31 in Cincinnati. You can see what happens in the 2022 NFL playoffs when you stream the game on Paramount+.

NFL picks for Chiefs vs. Bengals in the AFC Championship Game

Before turning into Sunday’s Bengals vs. Chiefs game, you need to see the NFL picks from SportsLine’s advanced computer model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up over $7,500 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. The model enters championship weekend of the 2021 NFL playoffs on an incredible 137-97 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. Amazingly, it hasn’t missed a top-rated pick since Week 14 of the regular season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

For Bengals vs. Chiefs, the model’s top pick is under 53.5 total points. A Patrick Mahomes vs. Joe Burrow showdown might scream offense, but there are plenty of reasons to believe the score could go low.

The Bengals were dominated up front by the Titans last Saturday and gave up nine sacks, which tied a playoff record. Cincinnati was only able to score 19 points in the win, and it might have been even fewer had Tennessee not turned the ball over three times. Cincinnati held the Titans to just 16 points, helping that game go under the 48.5-point total with plenty of room to spare.

Cincinnati also went under in seven of its nine road games this season. The Chiefs, meanwhile, can certainly score in bunches, but their offense has been streaky. Kansas City has scored more than 40 points in both playoff games, but the Chiefs also scored 22 points or fewer six times this season.

The model projects that this over-under is inflated and says the teams finish with a combined score of 52, helping the under hit in well over 50 percent of simulations.
