The Buffalo Bills are still licking their wounds from the 42-36 overtime loss they suffered in the divisional round to the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite racking up 422 yards of total offense and Gabriel Davis catching a record-setting four touchdowns, Buffalo again found itself on the losing end against Kansas City in the playoffs. Another loss may be right around the corner for the Bills, as offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is attracting serious attention on the coaching carousel.

Daboll is reportedly a finalist for the New York Giants job, and has been interviewing with a former coworker in Joe Schoen — who just took over as the new general manager for the Giants. If Daboll decides to leave Buffalo, the Bills will have to begin their own search to keep their offense humming. On Tuesday, Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that if the Bills need to look for a new offensive coordinator, their franchise quarterback Josh Allen will have a say in the process.

“Josh Allen will be in the loop and no decision will be made without Josh,” McDermott said, via NFL Media’s Kim Jones

When it comes to a potential candidate to replace Daboll, Jones also reported that Allen has been highly complimentary of Bills quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey. Daboll, who has been a part of six combined championship staffs between college and the NFL, has served as the Bills offensive coordinator since 2018. He’s had a hand in helping the young Allen develop into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, as Buffalo has finished in the top five in total offense over the past two seasons.

Allen being involved in the potential offensive coordinator search is something that will be beneficial for the franchise. Allen has earned that privilege with his play over the past few seasons, and now, he will get to have a say in the next leader of his offense and the coach he hopes to win a Super Bowl with in the coming years.
