Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Antonio Brown infamously had a meltdown during the team’s Jan. 2 game against the New York Jets. After deciding to abruptly remove himself from the sideline in the middle of the game, Brown launched his right glove into the stands at MetLife Stadium while acknowledging the crowd.
Less than one month later, that very glove is being auctioned off at Lelands Sports Memorabilia and Card Auctions. A description of the glove states that it is “a tangible memento from an iconic NFL moment.”
The bids for the glove started at $81, which was Brown’s number during his time with the Buccaneers. The auction, which runs through Feb. 12, had a high bid of $729 as of Monday afternoon.

Brown revealed that he chose to take off his uniform and leave the field because head coach Bruce Arians told him to after Brown said that he was too injured to continue playing. In addition, the veteran wide receiver threw his undershirt into the stands because he didn’t want to represent the Buccaneers’ logo following the disagreement.
A few moments later, Brown ran off the field and down the tunnel. Brown was released by the franchise a few days later.
After that infamous game, Arians stated that Brown never told him that he was too injured to take the field. Instead, Arians added that Brown’s frustrations centered around his lack of targets in the game.
Since the ordeal, Brown and his attorney, Sean Burstyn, have threatened to file a lawsuit against the Buccaneers for wrongful termination and defamation. Burstyn said that an MRI showed that Brown had broken bone fragments in his ankle.
Brown has maintained that he wants to continue his NFL career with another franchise once he’s fully healthy.
