What you need to know about the Cavaliers

The Cavaliers had enough points to win and then some against the New York Knicks this past Saturday, in a decisive 119-101 victory. Point guard Darius Garland led all scorers in the game with a double-double on 24 points and 13 assists, and went 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. Isaac Okoro nearly made all of his shot attempts and finished with 16 points on a 7-for-8 shooting performance.

In the three previous games that Cleveland has played against Philadelphia, the Cavs have shot 49.8 percent from the field, but just 33.7 percent from 3-point range. Surprisingly, Cleveland has had a slight rebounding edge against the 76ers, but that will be difficult to maintain on Sunday, as Jarrett Allen (finger) is out and rookie Evan Mobley remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

What you need to know about the 76ers

The 76ers won every quarter of play in their win against Charlotte on Saturday, a blowout 144-114 victory. Philadelphia had lost its previous three games, and took out that frustration on a Hornets side that had won eight of its last 10 games coming into the matchup. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Philadelphia had established a 103-80 advantage. Center Joel Embiid dropped a double-double with 29 points and 14 boards along with six assists.

Over its last three games, Philadelphia has been the fourth-best shooting team in the NBA and have made 51.8 percent of its shots during that stretch. Meanwhile, the Cavs only allowed the Knicks to hit 40 percent of their shots on Saturday. Both teams are playing in the second games of back-to-backs and Cleveland is 7-7 in those games, while Philadelphia is 4-5, but the 76ers average 104 points on offense in those games to Cleveland’s 101.8.
