Rams vs. Bengals odds, line, spread: 2022 Super Bowl picks, predictions, bets from model on 137-97 run

The Los Angeles Rams exploded out of the gate this season, winning seven of their first eight games. They stumbled at the midway point with three consecutive losses, but righted the ship and won five of their final six contests en route to their third NFC West title in five years. Los Angeles (15-5) can capture the second championship in franchise history when it faces the Cincinnati Bengals (13-7) in the 2022 Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 13. The Rams are 0-2 in Super Bowls while residing in California, winning their only Vince Lombardi Trophy after the 1999 season while located in St. Louis.

Kickoff from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is set for 6:30 p.m. ET. Los Angeles is a 4.5-point favorite in the latest Rams vs. Bengals odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 48.5. Why the Rams can cover

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was second in the NFL during the regular season in touchdown passes as he matched his career-high with 41. But he also threw 17 interceptions, tying Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence for most in the league. Stafford has done a strong job cutting down on mistakes in the 2022 NFL playoffs, however, as he has been picked off just once while making six TD tosses, two in each game.

The 33-year-old has formed a lethal connection with wide receiver Cooper Kupp in his first season with the Rams. Including the NFL playoffs 2022, they have produced 20 touchdowns to join Tom Brady and Randy Moss (24 in 2007) as the only quarterback-receiver duos in NFL history to team up for at least 20 TDs in their first season together. The 28-year-old Kupp led the league with 1,947 receiving yards in 2021, 17 shy of the single-season record set in 2012 by Detroit’s Calvin Johnson, who also had Stafford throwing to him.

Why the Bengals can cover

Cincinnati demonstrated its ability to recover in the AFC title game, as it matched the largest comeback in conference championship history (2006 Indianapolis Colts) when it erased a 21-3 deficit. The Bengals tightened up defensively in that contest, giving up only 2.4 yards per play in the second half and overtime after surrendering 8.9 in the first 30 minutes. They gave up 18 first downs and failed to record a sack or interception in the opening half before allowing Kansas City to move the chains only six times while sacking Patrick Mahomes on four occasions and picking him off twice after halftime.

Joe Burrow has won six consecutive starts since falling in overtime against San Francisco in Week 14 of the regular season. The Bengals also are 6-0 this season with the 25-year-old under center when they are at least three-point underdogs. In addition to leading Cincinnati to 13 victories thus far this campaign, Burrow has kept the team close, as only two of its seven losses were decided by more than three points.

SportsLine’s model is leaning Under on the total. In fact, it says neither Matthew Stafford nor Joe Burrow throws two touchdowns. It also says one side of the spread cashes nearly 60 percent of the time. You can only get the pick at SportsLine.
