Stocks in News:
TVS Motor Company: Venu Srinivasan, chairman of TVS Motor, mentioned at the AGM that the company is planning to launch products in the mid- to-premium segment to achieve volume growth.
Bandhan Bank: Bandhan Bank reported a 32.1% decline in its net profit at Rs 373.1 crore as compared to a net profit of Rs 549.8 crore in the June quarter of 2020. Gross Non-Performing Assets (NPA) rose from 1.4% of gross advances in June 2020 to 8.2% for the quarter ended June 2021. Net NPAs increased to 3.3% for the quarter in 2021 as compared to 0.5% for the June quarter last year.
IOC: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) reported over three-fold jump in its net profit in the April – June quarter to Rs 5941 crores. Revenue from operations jumped to Rs 1,55,056 crore from Rs 88,938 crore in the year-ago period.
Core sectors output up 8.9%
The output of eight core sectors grew 8.9% in June 2021 from the same month last year. The massive jump is due to extremely low economic activity in June 2020. An uptick in the production of natural gas, steel, coal and electricity is also a reason. The 8 core sectors are coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilisers, steel, cement and electricity.
IPO Update:
Rolex Rings IPO: Rolex Rings IPO was subscribed 130.43 times at the end of day 3 of bidding. The IPO received bids for 74.15 crore shares against an offer of 56 lakh shares.
FII and DII data:
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) net sold shares worth Rs3,848.31 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) net purchased shares worth Rs 2,956.68 crore in the Indian equity market on July 30, as per provisional data available on the NSE.

HDFC, Punjab National Bank, Emami, Ajmera Realty & Infra, Balaji Amines, Carborundum Universal, Castrol India, CG Power and Industrial Solutions, Nahar Spinning Mills, Orient Cement, RBL Bank, Shree Renuka Sugars, and Varun Beverages.
International Markets:
Wall Street: Major US indices, Dow, Nasdaq and S&P 500 indexes fell on Friday following a glum quarterly earnings report from Amazon, whereas data showing a strong rise in June consumer spending reinforced optimism about a steady economic rebound.
Asian markets: Asian stocks and U.S. equity futures rose early Monday as some of the concerns over Covid-19 reopening disruption and China’s regulatory crackdown eased, reported Bloomberg. Japan, South Korea and Australia stocks surged in early deals.
