Chelsea look to keep pace with both Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League title race when they welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Thursday. The Blues have dropped points in two out of their last four games but can pull within two points of City with a victory here. Meanwhile, Everton have lost four of five and could flirt with relegation if they can’t find consistency. Currently seven points clear of the drop zone, a win here could get them back on track.

Storylines
Chelsea: The team is boosted by the returns of two key players ahead of this clash. Manager Thomas Tuchel said midfield N’Golo Kante and defender Trevoh Chalobah are available for selection. Kante was injured in last month’s Champions League clash with Juventus, while Cahlobah was hurt against Watford last week. Midfielder Mateo Kovacic and defender Ben Chilwell are both still out.
Everton: Defender Lucas Digne is out due to an illness, according to manager Rafa Benitez. Star attacker Richarlison is also injured, with Benitez suspecting it because of being overworked. He was taken off early in the second half of the 3-1 loss at Crystal Palace, and if he can’t go in this one, it’s hard to see Everton having a chance to get even a point.
Prediction
Mason Mount scores a free kick in the second half to help Chelsea take all three points. Pick: Chelsea 2, Everton 1
