The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is offering a valuable training opportunity this December through its Transportation Assistance Program (TAP), designed to strengthen workplace safety skills and expand access to employment in transportation-related fields. The training will take place Wednesday, December 3 and Thursday, December 4, with two separate one-day sessions available for attendees. Participants only need to enroll in one of the sessions.

The event will be held at the Greenwood Cultural Center, located at 322 N. Greenwood Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74120, and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. Lunch will be provided to all attendees.

The TAP initiative focuses on offering critical safety and compliance education to individuals seeking to enhance their qualifications in the transportation, construction, and logistics sectors. This upcoming session includes hands-on and instructional training in:

  • Forklift Operation

  • Hazardous Communications (HazCom)

  • Ladder Safety

These certifications are highly valued by employers and can significantly improve job placement options for participants looking to enter or advance within skilled labor and transportation-related careers.

ODOT emphasizes its commitment to inclusivity and equal access in all programs and services. In accordance with state and federal guidelines, the agency maintains strict protections ensuring no individual is subjected to discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, retaliation, or genetic information. Individuals needing accommodations are encouraged to contact the ADA Coordinator at 405-521-4140, use the Oklahoma Relay Service at 1-800-722-0353, or email ODOT-ada-titlevi@odot.org with any questions.

Registration is now open, and interested participants can sign up by scanning the QR code on the flyer or visiting the online registration link at:

With safety training in high demand and space limited, early registration is encouraged. The TAP program continues to be an essential resource for workforce development across Oklahoma, helping individuals gain practical skills that support safer worksites and stronger employment opportunities.
