Drake has filed a motion through his attorney in an attempt to avoid deposition during XXX Tentacion‘s murder trial. According to TMZ, the rapper argues that the subpoena requiring him to face the private deposition is “procedurally defective.”
In the motion, Drake explains that defense attorney Mauricio Padilla failed to put the Zoom link for the deposition under seal when sending it him, potentially compromising his security, according to TMZ’s reporting. Additionally, the notice Padilla filed with the court days later excluded details on how Drake’s interview would be conducted.
Drake believes the requirement to sit for a deposition is simply an attempt to “add more layers of celebrity and notoriety to a tragic and unfortunate event, as his name isn’t in investigative files,” according to TMZ. He adds there’s no evidence suggesting he has any relevant information pertaining to the case.
As Drake awaits the judge’s ruling on his motion, he’s celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory, which earned him nearly $1,500,000 — but resulted in a few other losses.
Ahead of the big game, he performed at h.wood group and Uncommon Entertainment’s annual Homecoming Super Bowl party, where he received sexual advances — while performing.
As Page Six reports, Drake turned down the offer made via text and went on to sing hits including “God’s Plan,” “Best I Ever Had,” “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” “Started From the Bottom,” “HYFR (Hell Ya F***ing Right).”
