Top NBA and NFL Christmas Day picks

After simulating every game 10,000 times, the model is high the Jazz to cover as a 12-point favorite against the Mavericks to close out Saturday’s NBA schedule. Utah is the league’s highest-scoring team, while Dallas is averaging just 104.4 points per game this season, which ranks 27th in the NBA.

Utah leads the league in both scoring (115.8 points per game) and shooting percentage (47.8). In addition, the Jazz have dominated this series on their home court in recent years, winning nine of their last 10 home games against Dallas. The Jazz also just scored 128 points on Thursday night in a 12-point win against Minnesota.

The combination of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert has been tough to stop all season long. Mitchell scored 28 in Thursday’s victory, and the guard averages 25.1 points per game this season. Gobert leads the league in rebounds (15.1 per game), while adding 15.5 points per contest. Bojan Bogdanovic (17.2 points) also contributes heavily, hitting 47.7 percent of his shots and 43.5 from 3-point range. SportsLine’s model projects Utah’s trio combines for over 50 points on Saturday, which helps Utah cover the spread in nearly 60 percent of simulations.
